Join Tines as a Senior Solutions Engineering Manager and build, grow, and manage a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers in the Western US region. Partner with Sales, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams to build a high-growth business. Provide guidance and a roadmap for implementing Tines' solutions with new and existing customers. Develop and execute impactful regional strategies. Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to create a consistent and scalable customer journey. Foster an inclusive and collaborative solutions engineering environment. Act as an escalation point for pre-sales technical issues. Provide effective technical leadership and direction in customer meetings. This is a remote position based in the Pacific or Mountain time zones, with a preference for the San Francisco Bay or Los Angeles metro areas.
Requirements
- A strong technical background in automation, security, and traditional integration technologies
- Prior hands-on experience in solutions engineering or technical pre-sales
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a simple yet comprehensive way to non-technical and technical professionals alike
- Experience in nurturing the development of highly skilled teams
- Ability to gain trust across internal and external functional leaders
- Exceptional communication skills to understand customer needs and navigate to successful outcomes
- Decision making based on data with a willingness to experiment and iterate
- Ability to motivate change within customers and internal organization
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, and develop new solutions engineers and coach them on providing technical expertise to customers through sales presentations, solution designs, demonstrations, and POVs
- Partner with your Sales Leader counterparts to create a strategic GTM plan for the Western US region with clear deliverables, alignment with cross-functional teams, and measurable business outcomes
- Be a key member of the Western US leadership team for Tines with ownership of all pre-sales aspects of the business for the region
- Participate in success execution as both a player and a coach, performing account activities including opportunity coaching, account strategy, and technical executive sponsorship
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Sales Enablement, Product & Engineering, and the Partnerships teams to create a consistent and scalable customer journey
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative solutions engineering environment with a culture of coaching, learning, growth, development, and feedback
- Act as an escalation point for pre-sales technical issues from the field
- Provide effective technical leadership and direction in customer meetings β sharing technical trends, competitive, and product information
- Internalize Tines' value based sales and delivery methodology
- Understand the importance of role modeling behaviors by being both a player and a coach
- Learn about Tines' strategic customers in the Western US region and the typical use cases implemented using the Tines platform
- Establish a hiring strategy to grow the team
- Participate in success execution as a mentor, coach, and executive sponsor
- Perform account activities, including opportunity coaching and account strategy
- Work with the regional leadership team to develop and execute the business plan
- Enable the career development of Solutions Engineers on the team and advise on their growth trajectory
- Build executive relationships and proactively work with account teams to guide customer outcomes and overcome issues
- Collaborate with other teams to transform the value based delivery methodology
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineering leader
- Track record in building organizations and hiring and training top talent
- Ability to identify and communicate the business value of technology decisions
- Experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer within the enterprise software industry
- A passion for team and team members' success by providing technical guidance and coaching and enabling career development
Benefits
Annual on target compensation (salary + commission): $275k - $290k + equity
