Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA) of mechanical systems using ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, Nastran, or others (2-5 years)
- Proficiency in a CAD software
Responsibilities
- Performing engineering analyses, which can include thermal, stress, fatigue, tolerance, safety, manufacturability, and cost
- Performing multiphysics finite element analysis (FEA)
- Identifying deficiencies in mechanical designs and proactively making improvements in collaboration with engineering design teams
- Planning for manufacturing and assembly of components and subsystems
- Collaborating with engineering analysis teams to support comprehensive multiphysics analysis of the design
- Documenting work using modern tools and techniques in well-written technical reports
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing mechanical systems and products (1-3 years)
- Experience in design for manufacturing (1-3 years)
- Experience performing design optimizations utilizing tools such as Optistruct, Hyper study, or ANSYS optimization
- Has overseen at least 1 project from ideation to construction/fabrication and implementation
- Fluency in Python
