Summary

Join Datacom as a Senior Technical Lead and build strong client relationships, ensuring their technical needs are met and expanding our client base. You will oversee project implementation, including planning, cost assessment, and vendor evaluation, and review proposals and Statements of Work (SoW). This role requires extensive experience with network and security technologies and involves liaising between clients and internal teams. You will identify opportunities to improve support, reduce costs, and add value, while also reviewing documents for compliance. You will receive objectives and have autonomy to achieve goals, offering guidance on technical issues and recommending policy changes. Finally, you will monitor, measure, and report on operational performance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of industry standards and government regulations relevant to data communications / networking
  • Extensive experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of networking/communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies
  • Advanced operational knowledge of networking systems and software covering both Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs)
  • Strong consultative and planning skills and ability to escalate with a solution focus and a passion for delivering great service to customers
  • Excellent customer relationship building and management skills with strong influencing and persuasive ability
  • Manage towards positive solutions by having an ability to bring people and teams together to find outcomes-based solutions
  • Proven negotiating and commercial contract skills with the aptitude to ensure win/win situations for all parties through strong business acumen
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving with the ability to work on complex issues through analysis of situations, variables, or data
  • Natural leadership with the ability to frequently interact with a variety of stakeholders and team members
  • Australian Citizenship and be eligible to obtain a Baseline clearance or NV1

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with clients, ensuring their technical requirements are met
  • Identify ways to grow our client base
  • Oversee project implementation, including project planning, assessing costs, and evaluating vendors
  • Review proposals and Statements of Work (SoW)
  • Maintain the practice of customer centric behaviours, processes, and technologies across the Networks team to ensure Customers are at the heart of everything we do
  • Act as a liaison between customers and various teams, including technical support, product development, sales, and field service
  • Identify opportunities to enhance support delivery, reduce costs, and deliver added value
  • Review and approve documents to protect to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Receive objectives as assignments and have the autonomy to determine the best approach to achieve goals using available resources
  • Provide guidance and advice within the framework of company policies to resolve technical issues and meet deadlines
  • Recommend policy changes and establish procedures that impact company's operations
  • Monitor, measure, and report on operational issues, development plans, and achievements within the department using established formats and timelines
