Summary

Join our Outreach team as a Senior Outreach Lead, Film to help bring creative projects to life on Kickstarter. As a key member of our team, you will connect with promising creators, build relationships with priority film creators, and contribute to the growth and success of our community.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of deep, professional experience working in the film community
  • Professional experience in both independent and mainstream film is highly preferred
  • Strong sense of what makes crowdfunding projects succeed and ability to assess quality, innovation, creativity, and clarity of presentation when reviewing a campaign
  • Strong operational understanding of how Kickstarter campaigns function from pre-launch through post campaign funding
  • Demonstrated ability to align with strategic objectives and get data-driven results
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to present to small and large groups, speak to the press, and represent Kickstarter in a positive light at industry events
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Demonstrated presence within the film community through playing a central role at key events, developing a compelling online presence, writing thought pieces, or making other meaningful contributions to helping independent creators and institutions succeed

Responsibilities

  • Connect with promising creators who could use Kickstarter to bring exemplary projects to life
  • Build and strengthen relationships with priority film creators in Kickstarter’s community
  • Track creator conversations using Kickstarter’s CRM and maintain service-level agreement (SLAs) around considering priority creators for curation and outreach support
  • Help creators craft strong campaigns, advise on launch strategy, and connect them to relevant community resources
  • Develop and refine the film community–specific educational resources and surface to appropriate creators in collaboration with other teams at Kickstarter
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with institutions and partners in the Film ecosystem to build Kickstarter’s referral pipeline
  • Contribute to Kickstarter’s strategy for events within the film community, attending as a representative of Kickstarter, communicating with creators and industry audiences both one-on-one and through public speaking opportunities
  • Contribute to the film category strategy, researching potential growth opportunities and areas of focus
  • Make the case for Kickstarter in a competitive funding landscape and gather intelligence about alternate paths to funding that film creators are pursuing
  • Serve as an internal champion for the needs of film creators, surfacing feedback around product, policy, and experience to internal stakeholders and collaborating on cross-team initiatives that aim to improve creators’ experiences
  • Use Kickstarter’s film curation channels to celebrate creators’ work and coordinate marketing features on brand channels for priority creators
