Summary

Join Zuora as a Senior Global Payroll Specialist and ensure seamless payroll processing across multiple countries. You will be responsible for accurate and compliant payroll execution, working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Collaborate with global teams and vendors to enhance payroll processes and address employee inquiries. Key responsibilities include end-to-end payroll processing, compliance, audits, reconciliation, data management, and reporting. You will also assist with year-end processing and tax compliance, managing payroll-related journal entries. This role requires strong expertise in payroll compliance, general ledger functions, and international payroll operations.

Requirements

  • Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Payroll Experience: 5+ years of US payroll processing experience and 2+ years of global payroll experience, including working with third-party payroll providers, are required
  • Compliance Expertise: Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and international payroll compliance requirements
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and MS Office, with experience in payroll software systems. Experience with the implementation of payroll software systems
  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy in payroll processing
  • Communication & Problem-Solving: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to address employee concerns and collaborate effectively with various teams
  • Confidentiality & Integrity: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Organizational & Multitasking Abilities: Proven ability to manage multiple payroll cycles, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Team Player Mentality: Strong work ethic with a proactive, solution-driven approach to challenges. A desire or willingness to expand knowledge to new areas/geographies

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Payroll Processing: Accurately process scheduled monthly payrolls for salaried and hourly employees across multiple countries, including bonuses, commissions, and off-cycle payroll runs
  • Payroll Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure payroll adheres to local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies while maintaining strict internal controls
  • Audit & Reconciliation: Conduct detailed audits of payroll data, validate reports, and reconcile payroll before and after transmission
  • Payroll Documentation: Maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with audit and reporting requirements
  • HR & Payroll Data Management: Track and review HR payroll interface (PI) files for compensation updates, benefit changes, and new hires
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Accounting, Legal, Operations, and third-party vendors to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Global Payroll Coordination: Partner with local payroll vendors to ensure smooth payroll processing and compliance in international markets
  • Employee Support & Communication: Address payroll-related inquiries, providing clear and timely resolutions to employee concerns
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare payroll-related financial reports for senior management, Accounting, and Finance teams as needed
  • Year-End Processing & Tax Compliance: Assist with year-end reporting and collaborate with payroll vendors to complete international tax filings
  • General Ledger & Accounting: Manage payroll-related journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing processes
