Summary

Join Deel's US Tax Operations team as a Senior Payroll Tax Specialist. You will manage PEO projects, overseeing operational processes from inception to launch and ensuring timely and accurate execution. Lead the implementation and configuration of MasterTax software for accurate payroll tax filings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Leverage PrismHR software for payroll settings and troubleshooting. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build scalable processes. Conduct quality checks and drive continuous improvement across Tax Operations processes. This role requires extensive experience in PEO, MasterTax, and payroll.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of PEO experience
  • 3+ years of MasterTax experience
  • 5+ years of payroll industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the operational foundational structure, workflows, and processes for the PEO services
  • Oversee the execution of our operational PEO offerings from inception to launch
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end operational payroll process for PEO services, ensuring timely and accurate execution
  • Collaborate with internal teams (payroll, HR, benefits, compliance) to integrate services effectively
  • Lead the implementation and configuration of MasterTax software for our PEO services to ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Oversee the transmission of tax deposits, ensuring they are processed correctly and on time
  • Resolve quarter-end variances and establish scalable operational frameworks and SOPs
  • Ensure all PEO operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., employment laws, workers’ compensation, tax requirements)
  • PEO Tax notice research and resolution
  • Leverage PrismHR software to configure payroll settings, ensure data accuracy, and troubleshoot issues during the implementation phase
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure build scalable operational processes and develop feedback channels to quickly surface customer issues
  • Conduct quality checks on payroll configurations and ensure accuracy before going live
  • Identify and drive improvements across all critical Tax Operations processes, including payroll corrections and amendments
  • Support the implementation of KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
