Senior Perl

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior Perl Engineer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient applications. Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. Work remotely from Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Bolivia. Maintain and troubleshoot complex legacy Perl applications. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, extensive software development experience, and advanced English skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• +5 years of experience
• Strong expertise in Perl programming, especially in large, unstructured codebases
• Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and complex joins
• Proven ability to reverse-engineer legacy systems, identify bugs, and refactor code for maintainability

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot complex legacy Perl applications with minimal documentation
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support backend processes and data analysis
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, ensuring system stability and performance
