Summary
Join MeridianLink as a Sr. Software QA Engineer to build and enhance testing strategies for on-prem, SaaS, and cloud offerings. Drive technical and cultural change, developing and automating test suites/cases using agile methodologies. Mentor junior QA team members and champion quality through a shift-left testing approach. Responsibilities include working with product and development teams, driving SaaS & Cloud testing strategy, assessing test coverage, and enhancing test automation infrastructure. You will coach junior engineers, champion quality, and stay updated on the latest QA tools and technologies. The ideal candidate is highly technical with a solid programming and scripting background and experience testing SaaS-based products.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in driving software quality, test automation and continuous delivery efforts for SAAS applications running on Cloud
- Deep understanding of API & microservice architecture and distributed systems
- Extensive experience in defining and leading both front end and backend automated testing
- Proficient in setting up software testing framework and developing automated test suites using test automation tools and processes such as JUnit, Selenium/Webdriver, Jmeter, Jenkins
- Experience working with API, JSON, XML and API testing tools such as PostMan, SoapUI, etc
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, C++, TCL, Python, Perl and/or shell scripting
- Experience in DevOps and CI/CD related technologies including Git/GitHub/GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence etc
- Strong understanding and experience in agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, BDD/TDD, pair programing, continuous integration/delivery
- Strong commitment to best practices in QA and software development, modern Continuous Integration (CI) processes and automating everything vision
- Good knowledge of Cloud platforms (ex: AWS, Azure, GCP), Networking, HTTP/HTTPS
- Experience in developing and running performance and scalability testing of cloud applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate and articulate to stakeholders and management
- Proven history of successfully coordinating and executing all aspects of testing efforts from project inception to post launch
- Strong risk management skills and a knack for recognizing and anticipating things that would eventually turn into problems (problem avoidance vs reactiveness)
- Experience executing Functional, Non-Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and End to End testing
- Ability to develop a testing strategy that is customized and optimized for the situation at hand and communicate it effectively to stakeholders
- Deep understanding of how to leverage automation in testing efforts and the ability to identify tests that would be optimal candidates for automation
- Ability to effectively utilize issue/defect tracking tools such as JIRA and test case management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- A strong passion for quality, an unrelenting attention to detail, and the proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
- BS EE or CS degree; 4-6 years related experience (or Masterβs and 8+ years related experience or Ph.D. and 5+ years' experience preferred)
- 4-6 years of software engineering experience as developer and/or test automation engineer in Cloud SaaS-based enterprise application/product
- 4-6 years of experience in Automation Testing, system level tests, performance, security and/or API testing
- 4-6 years of diverse experience in the Testing/QA/QE field with a passion for quality and a demonstrated track record of continuously improving
- Versatile and fast learner with the ability to take early code and help with early integration testing
- Self-starter takes initiative and juggles multiple priorities, identifies and completes tasks on-time; goal-driven
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to partner with local and remote engineers
- Able to work under minimal supervision, works well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments in a clear and concise manner
Responsibilities
- Work with product and development teams to develop, automate, and execute the required comprehensive tests against specified requirements and use case scenarios
- Participate in product development early-on during the development life cycle, create the necessary test infrastructure and test setup, and help with early integration testing
- Drive SAAS & Cloud testing strategy to deliver in a continuous delivery model
- Continually assess and evaluate existing test cases/suites with an objective of identifying and eliminating potential gaps in test coverage
- Develop and enhance test tools and test automation infrastructure to improve the quality and efficiency of testing and test methodologies. Become inventive in testing approaches by building tools and automation scripts
- Develop and execute maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases
- Coach and mentor junior QA engineers in the team on best practices and test methodologies
- Be a champion of quality and promote best practices to improve overall code quality
- Continuously research to stay up to date on the latest tools, technologies, trends, and approaches within the QA world and incorporate the ones that make sense and are applicable
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and any container orchestration system/solution is a plus
