Senior Platform Engineer

Summary

Join Mursion, an award-winning upskilling platform company, as a Senior Platform Engineer. You will enhance software delivery processes and prepare the platform for massive scalability. This role requires extensive experience in cloud architectures, automation, and CI/CD practices. You will automate operations, optimize deployment workflows, and ensure infrastructure can handle large-scale operations. Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or related roles
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab
• Strong proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, etc.)
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar
• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Agile development methodologies

Responsibilities

• Develop, scale, and maintain our AWS-based infrastructure using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery
• Automate build, test, and deployment phases using Jenkins, Github, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and other automation tools
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize code deployment processes in Node.js, Java, React, and Next.js environments
• Enhance system monitoring and alerts using advanced observability and monitoring tools
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Ensure security best practices and compliance are followed in all DevOps processes
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Platform engineers
• Provide expertise on system scalability and assist in designing architectures that support growth and performance
• Drive initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and quality of our development and deployment processes
• Mentor junior Platform Engineer team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies
• Experience with WebRTC or similar technologies is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
