Senior Platform Engineer

Requirements

• Commitment to cloud (AWS) security and involved services, ensuring compliance and continuous risk mitigation
• Ability to continuously assess infrastructure security posture, anticipate vulnerabilities, and implement effective solutions
• Experience in implementing security as code (IaC), ensuring automated policies and controls to prevent insecure configurations
• Close collaboration with engineering teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and development processes without compromising agility
• Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs to strengthen security without impacting platform scalability and resilience
• Expertise in managing and strengthening layers such as WAF, CDN, Security Groups, VPCs, encryption, and authentication/authorization processes
• Continuous monitoring of trends, threats, and new security practices to ensure platform evolution
• Experience with tools such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and others for monitoring, anomaly detection, and rapid incident response
• Promoting a security culture by developing training, documentation, and best practices across the organization
• Strong experience in Cloud Computing security (AWS) and its respective services, including threat modeling and pentesting
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Service Mesh, Terraform, API Gateway, encryption, and pipelines
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and building security guardrails and policies as code
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in dynamic environments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proven experience in technical leadership and mentoring less experienced team members
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, quickly learn and master various technologies
• Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Lead security initiatives, identifying improvement opportunities, ensuring compliance, and promoting the adoption of best practices from solution design to deployment
• Strengthen the security posture of cloud services and other platforms
• Play a key role in automation and empowering teams to adopt security autonomously, ensuring that security is seamlessly and efficiently integrated into workflows
