Remote Senior Platform Engineer

Summary

Join our Cloud Infrastructure team as a Senior Platform Engineer and contribute to the development of cloud platforms, lead projects from initial architecture to final implementation, and help in our transformation of operating at massive scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms. e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP (AWS preferred)
• 3+ years of experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Strong experience in the design and implementation of cloud architectures
• Fluency in a programming language like Python, Go, Ruby, or similar
• Experience developing cloud networking infrastructure, including DNS, CDNs, load balancers, VPCs, subnets, and security groups
• Experience managing observability platforms, building monitoring dashboards, and configuring high quality, actionable alerting

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership and guidance in design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and increase resilience and reliability
• Contribute to developing infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and the evolution of our overall cloud architecture
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies in our cloud infrastructure
• Build and automate our next-generation cells architecture, a horizontal scaling platform that allows us to support growing customers all over the world
• Automate rebalancing of our customers across our cells to spread the load (without downtime!)
• Implement best practices for optimizing resource utilization and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with other engineers, providing mentorship and knowledge transfer to enhance the team's overall technical capabilities
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a results-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of one or more relational and non-relational databases
• Restaurant experience (server, host, cook…it helps to know the folks our software supports!)
