Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, actuary, finance, engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience utilizing Day Ahead Asset Bid and Offer Strategy, Virtuals, FTRs and other financial instruments to manage portfolio risk in PJM, SPP, ERCOT and/or MISO
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Strong communication skills – ability to explain and synthesize complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to contextualize and provide fundamental backing for strategy derivation in a clear manner
- Ability to write technical and commercial reports to convey information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and to approach tasks with a customer-centric mindset
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
Responsibilities
- Actively manage solar, wind, and battery resources to optimize our client’s P&L in deregulated power markets
- Formulate trading strategies for customer assets and provide fundamental backing for strategy derivation
- Evaluate recommendations provided by the analysis team to formulate effective trading strategies
- Ensure trade strategies meet the client’s portfolio objectives and the risk parameters
- Work with the power analysts to develop forecasts and market assessments to support decision-making
- Design and optimize data models and analytics to extract actionable insights from power markets
- Leverage your asset management and market expertise to act as the subject-matter expert in sales meeting and answer technical questions about our solutions
- Prepare and present reports, forecasts, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to ensure optimal decision-making and develop innovative strategies
- Develop presentations and reports to comprehensively, and accurately share findings with clients on complex matters
