Summary
Join Toast's newest line of business and help build a product from the ground up! As a Senior Product Designer, you will drive the evolution of the Toast supplier, purchasing, inventory, and product catalog experience for hybrid customers (foodservice + retail), convenience stores, bottle shops, grocery stores, and more. Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including designers, product managers, and engineers, to create a next-generation Toast Product Catalog experience that is simple, clear, and delightful to use. This is a 100% remote opportunity, with a plus if you live near Boston. The role requires a strong portfolio and keen eye for UI design. You will work on a passionate team driving consistency and integrity of the current product experience and the strategy and vision of the next generation.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience with demonstrated ability to lead the solution of a product area, craft compelling visual experiences and connect that to a broader product vision
- Experience leveraging AI tools to aid in product design process
- Ability to differentiate between AI hype and when it actually makes sense to integrate into a product
- Solid understanding of UX principles and best practices for both web and native mobile applications
- Good grasp of platform-specific UX and UI patterns
- Ability to work through undefined projects, gather what's necessary and begin preliminary work
- Good communication skills + proactive mindset for sharing work early and often
- Proficient in Figma, Sketch, other design tool (preferably Figma)
- Ability to work proficiently in the design software, keep a clean file and deliver final UI designs in a pixel-perfect manner for handoff to a developer or handoff to an AI prototyping tool
- Take feedback constructively and be able to pivot quickly if necessary
- Understand and empathize with users and design digital experiences that delight and make the user feel accomplished for what usually are stressful or monotonous workflows
- Familiar with corporate design systems, how to use them appropriately and ability to push beyond when necessary
- Willingness to engage with customers, gather feedback and generate ideas to advance product features

Preferred Qualifications
- Design system experience (creation and maintenance)
- Figma prototyping and Figma Make skills
- Animation skills (Adobe After Effects + LottieFiles)
- Ability to read HTML/CSS code
- Prior startup or zero-to-one experience
