Join Datacor's Applied Flow Technology (AFT) as a Project Engineer to lead and grow our consulting services. This pivotal role involves expanding our services arm by delivering engineering projects using AFT software. You will manage the entire project lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to delivery, driving services revenue and building customer relationships. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise, project management skills, and a passion for business development. You will collaborate with customers, develop project proposals, execute projects, and maintain communication throughout the process. This remote position offers the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving our software and service offerings.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (chemical engineering preferred)
- Proficiency in at least one of the AFT products (Fathom, Arrow, Impulse, or xStream ), an ability to become proficient in all four, and experience solving industrial modeling challenges
- 5+ years as a project engineer, with a history of managing billable hours (1,700β1,800 annually)
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of resolving complex technical issues
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed goals
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with customer support tools, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and project management software
- Passionate about providing outstanding service and building long-term customer relationships
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and challenges, translating them into well-defined project scopes and deliverables
- Develop detailed project proposals, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with customer expectations
- Execute consulting projects, including technical analysis, system configuration, and customized deliverables tailored to customer requirements
- Maintain clear, regular communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment, progress updates, and satisfaction
- Identify and pursue opportunities for follow-up projects or additional services to deepen customer relationships
- Drive business development efforts to build a robust pipeline of consulting projects, actively contributing to the growth of our services revenue
- Provide insights and feedback to internal teams to improve our software and service offerings
- Mentor junior engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- P.E. License
- Experience with pipe stress modeling in CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, or similar
