Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal communication) is required
  • Experience working with remote teams across North America and Latin America, ensuring smooth collaboration across time zones
  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation, with a strong focus on end-to-end testing and automation frameworks
  • Expertise in Playwright, including writing and maintaining automation test suites for modern web applications
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, enabling the creation of robust and scalable test scripts
  • Deep understanding of software QA methodologies, best practices, and Agile/Scrum development principles
  • Hands-on experience testing APIs (REST and GraphQL), using automation tools such as Postman or Playwright’s API testing capabilities
  • Experience working with cloud-based test environments, particularly in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong understanding of front-end and backend testing strategies, ensuring a holistic approach to quality and working with product owners to identify and define acceptance criteria and test cases
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues across multiple environments
  • Experience mentoring other QA engineers, providing guidance on test automation best practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of test automation frameworks using Playwright, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and efficiency
  • Design and execute automated test scripts to validate front-end and backend services, ensuring comprehensive test coverage
  • Experience implementing and integrating CI/CD test pipelines as part of development/release processes
  • Collaborate with front-end and backend engineers to define testability requirements, improve test coverage, and enhance quality throughout the SDLC
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end, regression, API, and performance test suites, ensuring consistent product reliability across multiple environments
  • Advocate for a shift-left testing approach, working closely with developers to promote best practices in unit testing, integration testing, and code quality
  • Manage and optimize test environments to support parallel test execution, ensuring stability and performance
  • Monitor and analyze test results, proactively communicating and updating leadership with detailed reports and recommendations for improvements in test coverage and software quality
  • Mentor junior and intermediate QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality, automation-first mindset, and continuous learning
  • Stay updated with emerging QA automation tools and technologies, continuously improving our testing methodologies and frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance testing tools (K6, Locust, or Playwright’s experimental performance testing features)
  • Familiarity with containerized testing environments using Docker
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices, ensuring tests validate authentication, authorization (OAuth, JWT), and API security measures
  • Experience with visual regression testing tools, ensuring UI consistency across deployments
  • Experience with headless eCommerce platforms such as commercetools
  • Experience testing integrations with Contentful, Algolia, Segment, and Talon.One is ideal
