Senior Revenue Accountant

Summary

You will manage complex revenue accounting processes, support financial statement preparation, and maintain compliance with GAAP and ASC 606. Responsibilities include applying revenue recognition principles, supporting monthly/quarterly/annual close processes, performing account reconciliations, ensuring compliance and assisting in audits, identifying process improvement opportunities, and supporting special projects. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years of relevant experience, strong understanding of ASC 606, and proficiency in GAAP and financial software. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting or a related field, with a strong understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve complex issues
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience with financial software systems (Netsuite) and advanced proficiency in Excel

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) to ensure proper accounting for contracts, customer agreements, and billing arrangements
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for revenue, commissions and other revenue-related transactions and accounts. Ensure all revenue-related transactions are accounted for accurately and timely
• Perform detailed account reconciliations for revenue-related and commission accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in external audits related to revenue
• Identify opportunities for streamlining and improving revenue and commission accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to revenue accounting, system upgrades, and process improvements

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or other relevant certifications
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 and experience in SAAS
