Summary

Join ELEKS Software Engineering and Development Office as a Senior SCADA Developer in Croatia, Poland, or another Eastern European country. This role involves providing consulting services and development for a renewable energy company's IT systems, focusing on SCADA, Jython, and Ignition platforms. You will monitor and improve SCADA systems, integrate new parks, and develop automation and monitoring solutions. The ideal candidate possesses 7+ years of SCADA experience, including 4+ years with Ignition or similar platforms, and deep domain knowledge in SCADA systems, particularly with Ignition by Inductive Automation. Excellent communication skills and upper-intermediate English are essential. Passion for renewable energy is a plus.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in SCADA systems, with at least 4 years focused on Ignition or similar platforms
  • Deep domain knowledge in SCADA systems, particularly with Ignition by Inductive Automation
  • Strong experience in system architecture, including migration strategies and SCADA system optimization
  • Expertise in Ignition-based platforms, including project scoping, customization, and scaling solutions
  • Experience in advising on system architecture for renewable energy plants (wind, solar, battery storage)
  • Experience with SQL and/or time-series databases
  • Domain knowledge in energy sales bidding, frequency reserves markets, and managing hybrid power parks (wind, solar, battery)
  • Ability to consult on forecasting and predictive modeling solutions (e.g., energy production and consumption)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Upper-intermediate level of English
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Passion for renewable energy and future technologies

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and improving SCADA systems to ensure the highest performance through constant upgrades and maintenance
  • Cooperating with the project teams to integrate new parks and manage system integrations for seamless data stream
  • Development and deployment of automation and monitoring solutions to enhance processes, when monitoring data transmission to ensure system integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Java and microservice architectures related to energy markets (e.g., mFRR, AFRR trading systems)
  • Familiarity with Ignition certifications and project management tools related to SCADA system implementations
  • Understanding of real-time data integration, PLC, and automation solutions for energy grids
  • Experience with cloud deployment or hybrid SCADA solutions
  • Familiarity with the Baltic or Eastern European energy markets
