Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Summary

Join xLabs, a team contributing to open-source technologies for the Internet of Value, focusing on engineering tools and robust infrastructure for decentralized applications. We're core contributors to Wormhole, building the backbone of this internet. This role requires efficient work in distributed teams, strong communication, critical problem-solving, and proactive initiative. Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, workload orchestration, software design, distributed systems, and at least one programming language is essential. Experience running blockchains, particularly validators and remote signers/multisig, is a plus. We manage compute infrastructure and applications, requiring extensive reading and documentation of learnings.

Requirements

• Have experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps
• Have experience with workload orchestration solutions, such as (but not limited to) HashiCorp Nomad or Kubernetes
• Be able to reason about software design and distributed systems
• Be proficient in at least one programming language

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in distributed teams, with a strong focus on clear and frequent communication
• Think critically about the problems presented to the team and propose multiple solutions, ideally documented in written form
• Be proactive, taking initiative while keeping the team’s success in mind
• Communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
• Manage compute infrastructure and the applications that depend on it
• Read documentation, code, Slack channels, and Discord servers to develop an informed understanding of each app's architecture, best operating practices, and debugging techniques
• Document what you learn, including what went wrong and how to prevent future issues

Preferred Qualifications

Have experience running blockchains, particularly validators and remote signers/multisig
