Senior Software Engineer, Content Integrity

Summary

Join Airbnb's Content Integrity team and help build systems to combat fraud and protect our users. You will design, implement, and operate scalable systems to detect and mitigate fake content, including reviews, messages, and hateful content. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for business impact and improve the reliability and efficiency of our defenses. Leverage your expertise in building high-quality products and machine learning models (BERT and LLMs) to classify text, image, and video content. This US-remote eligible position requires 6+ years of industry experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS or equivalent. Requirements

• 6+ years industry experience
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
• Experience in building and scaling high-quality and high-traffic products (or systems)
• Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design product solutions to solve real-world problems
• Ability to drive alignment, manage projects and effectively collaborate with stakeholders
• Mentorship to junior developers

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate resilient and scalable distributed systems
• Drive projects from ideation, design, and implementation to testing, deployment, monitoring, and release
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners including software engineers, product managers, operations and data scientists to identify opportunities for business impact, understand, refine, and prioritize requirements for machine learning models, drive engineering decisions, and quantify impact
• Identify opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability, efficiency, and efficacy of our defenses and drive their implementation
• Advocate and participate in efforts to advance Airbnb’s engineering processes and technical foundations

Preferred Qualifications

• Fraud experience is a plus, but not required
• Content understanding experience is a plus, but not required
• Experience with machine learning model development is a plus, but not required
