Summary

The role involves using DevSecOps best practices to develop and deliver software solutions, leveraging cloud-native technologies, and collaborating with Agile teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience working as part of an Agile team using DevOps practices and modern programming languages and frameworks to develop and engineer services and applications to cloud platforms
  • Experience as a technical lead with responsibilities to include architecting and presenting solutions to customers, decomposing large tasks into user stories and delegating to team members, coaching and mentoring team members
  • Expert level python development experience (5-10 years)
  • Full stack experience including front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js
  • Experience using Test Driven Development practices and CI/CD pipelines to shift security left and continuously develop and deliver software in small batches satisfying security, quality, and test compliance requirements
  • Experience using Commercial Cloud Providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure to host applications/services (CSP Certification can be substituted for experience)
  • Experience using Docker and/or OCI compliant containers
  • Experience using Git version control and feature branch development practices including merge/pull requests for
  • Experience using issue tracking platforms such as Jira or GitLab to manage assigned user stories and tasks within Agile iterations
  • Strong Linux environment skills
  • Experience with building and consuming REST APIs
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Using DevSecOps best practices, as part of an agile team, to rapidly develop and deliver first class solutions for a DoD customer
  • Developing software using leading languages, frameworks, and platforms including Python and FastAPI, JavaScript and React, C++, and AWS
  • Leveraging Test Driven Development and User Centered design best practices automate testing and ensure delivered software meets and exceeds customer needs
  • Applying software design best practices to identify and analyze potential solutions, generating design diagrams to convey and capture system design, and participating in technical exchange meetings to discuss with the team and customer stakeholders
  • Embracing a shared responsibility for system security and performing threat modeling to identify and mitigate system security threats, implement protective and preventive security measures continuously throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Continuously engaging with project teams to deliver quality products
  • Participating in daily standups, sprint planning/review meetings, discover and framing workshops, and customer demo sessions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or MS in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with implementing applications in a disconnected, intermittent, and limited environment
  • Experience with React Native framework
  • Security+ Certification
  • Experience with Gitlab CI and/or Jenkins pipelines
