Senior Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior Software Engineer position at Raft, a customer-obsessed small business focusing on Distributed Data Systems and Complex Application Development. The role involves building a data-focused product using open source solutions like Kafka, Trino, DuckDB, and Superset.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience building RESTFul APIs in one of the following languages: Java, Scala, Python, Rust, Go
• At least 1 year of experience in Data Intensive applications ranging from low latency high throughput (Kafka), Lakehouse Architecture (Delta Lake), JDBC (PostgreSQL)
• Deep design of software design and architecture
• Experience / Interest in DuckDB and building data focused projects that tell a story
• Experience with building and releasing software in cloud-native environments
• Experience using a variety of package managers/dependency managers including Maven, Gradle, and NPM
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• STEM Background or relevant industry experience
• Obtain Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

Build end-to-end features that make interacting with data easier enabling users to be able to tell a data story through our product
