Senior Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior Software Engineer at Red Spark, who will be responsible for building scalable software and mastering overall platform architecture. They should have advanced proficiency in GoLang, Python, Java, JavaScript (frontend and nodejs), PHP, Bash scripting, and basic understanding of AWS, Akamai, Docker, Fabric, Ansible, Hadoop, Spark ML, Kafka, Aerospike, Redis, MySQL, Postgres, HTML + CSS. They should have at least 5 years of experience in a fast-paced web environment and knowledge of architecting high-volume applications. Requirements

• Languages: GoLang (understanding / basic), Python (advanced), Java (advanced), Javascript (frontend and nodejs) (advanced), PHP (basic), Bash scripting (basic)
• Platforms: AWS, Akamai
• Misc: Docker, Fabric, Ansible, Hadoop, Spark ML, Kafka, Aerospike, Redis, MySQL, Postgres, HTML + CSS
• Other requirements: 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in a fast-paced, web-centric environment. Experience with Python, Java, and Linux or similar Unix environments. Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms. Knowledge of Docker (or a strong interest in learning). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Solid communication skills with both product management and engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Master the overall platform architecture
• Act as a ‘commando team’ to assist other engineers on feature requests
• Lead the adoption of the latest technologies for scaling data-driven platforms
• Deploy and monitor AWS infrastructure
• Jump in and help product development teams on ongoing projects
• Architect solutions to leverage the best of cloud infrastructure
