Senior Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior Backend Engineer at Sinch, a global Customer Communication Cloud company. The role involves developing and scaling the Contacts functions for SaaS, working in a cross-functional team, and having a high impact on the organization's code. This is a 90% remote role with occasional office visits to Madrid.

Requirements

• A strong foundation in backend development
• Proficiency in Java, with around 6-8 years of hands-on coding
• Expertise in working with non-relational databases like MongoDB
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with event streaming or queuing systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• An ability to make informed architectural decisions
• Fluency in English

Responsibilities

• Develop, architect and scale the Contacts functions for SaaS
• Be part of a cross functional team that sets its own objectives and goals with responsibility for every stage of product development life cycle from planning and design to implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of other programming languages (Golang is used in some teams)
• Experience with search technologies like Atlas Search or Elasticsearch
• Building scalable SaaS platforms
• Developing event-driven systems
• A knack for automating functional and performance tests
