Summary

The Loan Origination and Reporting team at Affirm is responsible for creating all loans and making reliable, scalable systems to handle loan requests from a growing customer base. The candidate will design, code, and maintain services for loan origination, build batch processes, mentor junior teammates, and collaborate with business partners. A BS degree in Computer Science with 3-5+ years of experience as a software engineer is required, along with proficiency in back-end development and distributed systems.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science
• 3-5+ years of experience as a software engineer with leadership exposure and experience mentoring junior engineers
• Proficiency and experience in back-end development and distributed systems (Python, Spark, Kubernetes, MySQL, AWS)
• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and maintain services that enable the origination of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of loans and can scale to meet growing demand
• Mentor junior teammates, review their code, and help them learn skills needed to become outstanding engineers
