Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Summary

Sanity.io is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build their Content Lake backend. The candidate should be highly skilled in at least one back-end language, an expert in SQL and NoSQL database technologies, and have experience building and running distributed microservice applications at scale. The role involves driving the design and development of valuable product increments, leading critical incidents responses, contributing to a culture of engineering excellence, coaching teammates, providing technical mentorship, and retrospecting to influence how the team works.

Requirements

• A proven track record of building and running distributed microservice applications at scale
• Expertise in any back-end language, with a requirement to write in Go and some Typescript / Node.js
• Expertise in SQL and NoSQL database technologies

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and development of valuable product increments
• Lead critical incidents responses and fix our most complex defects
• Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence through peer-reviewing others’ work, testing code, and championing coding standards
• Coach teammates and provide technical mentorship to level up the whole team
• Retrospect and influence how our team works, recommending product or process improvements
