Join Spring Health's Member Experience Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer II and contribute to building high-quality clinical specialty care programs. This full-time, remote (or optionally hybrid) role offers opportunities to impact the lives of members facing significant mental health challenges. You will write, review, and optimize code, lead product initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers. The role requires extensive experience in software engineering, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, AWS, React, and modern JavaScript frameworks. Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience as a software engineer
- At least 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and AWS
- Experience with React, Redux, and modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience with Docker and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Strong proficiency in building full-stack applications, with a focus on backend
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance systems
- Track record of mentoring junior engineers and leading by example
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering clean, maintainable code
Responsibilities
- Write, review, and optimize production-ready code daily, while making key technical decisions and ensuring high standards of code quality
- Write and optimize scalable, high-performance code ensuring long-term maintainability
- Lead a high-impact product initiative, driving both hands-on execution and technical direction
- Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to rapidly build innovative solutions aligned with our mission
- Own and deliver complex projects, managing risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs while keeping the larger mission in focus
- Execute quickly and efficiently in a collaborative team setting, balancing speed and quality
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture by improving processes, mentoring peers, and setting a high technical bar through personal coding contributions
