Summary
Join a remote engineering team as a Senior PHP Developer and contribute to scaling and modernizing a platform. This role involves working with both legacy and modern systems, contributing to architecture, feature development, and the ongoing evolution of the software platform. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with PHP in enterprise environments and be comfortable owning projects from design to deployment.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience in PHP development
- Strong background in enterprise-level applications and system architecture
- Experience working with legacy codebases and guiding modernization efforts
- Proficiency in SQL (e.g., MySQL) and version control (e.g., Git)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment
Responsibilities
- Lead backend development and provide architectural input on PHP-based systems
- Contribute to the migration from PHP 7.4 to PHP 8, including identifying and resolving compatibility issues
- Maintain and enhance core platform functionality in a high-availability environment
- Collaborate with QA, product stakeholders, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to improving development processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern PHP frameworks and best practices (e.g., Laravel, Symfony)
- Exposure to containerization tools (e.g., Docker) or CI/CD pipelines
- Background in SaaS
