Senior Solution Architect

Summary

Join SMX as a Senior Solution Architect and lead cloud technology initiatives for our clients. You will deliver client projects, lead technical teams, engage with client executives, and support pre-sales activities. Advanced skills in application migration, application modernization, and DevSecOps are essential. This remote position, supporting a Boston-based team, requires technical expertise, leadership, and strong communication. You will be responsible for leading architecture design, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with client objectives, and providing guidance to project teams. Pre-sales responsibilities include engaging with clients, developing proposals, and accurately predicting project effort.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Have 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on application migration, modernization, and DevSecOps
• Have 10+ years of experience designing, deploying, and utilizing DevOps tool chains for deployment automation, Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Python
• Have 10+ years of experience in cloud computing or digital business development
• Possess a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex technology projects that feature AWS, as well as other CSPs
• Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with and sell to client executives
• Have experience in developing well-written Statements of Work (SOWs) and accurately predicting project Levels of Effort (LOE)
• Demonstrate the ability to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
• Possess strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of complex solutions in application migration, modernization, big data, and AI
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Ensure that technical solutions align with client objectives and requirements
• Provide guidance and mentoring to project teams, ensuring successful project execution
• Engage with client executives to understand their business needs and challenges
• Participate in pre-sales activities, including solution presentations, technical discussions, and proposal development
• Develop comprehensive Statements of Work (SOWs) that clearly define project scope, deliverables, and timelines
• Accurately predict the Level of Effort (LOE) required for project implementation
• Lead and inspire technical project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud, application migration, modernization, big data, and AI
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor
• Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical client executives
• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality solutions that meet or exceed expectations

Preferred Qualifications
