Summary
Join Taskrabbit's Globalization team in London as a French Localization Specialist! This remote-first role requires 2 days/week in the Soho office. You will coordinate translation with agencies, adapt content, maintain linguistic assets, and support stakeholders. Responsibilities include workflow management, agency coordination, reference material development, QA checks, translation/review, cross-team collaboration, localization audits, and project management. The ideal candidate is a native French speaker with 5+ years' localization experience, strong communication skills, CAT tool familiarity, and project management expertise. Requirements
- French localisation expert (native level of fr-FR required)
- A passion for language, communication, and storytelling
- A minimum of 5 years’ localisation experience with a strong background in translation, linguistics, content creation, and cultural adaptation
- Excellent communication and organising skills. You are capable of carrying out all duties in a fast-paced environment as part of a remote-first international team
- Solid understanding of CAT tools, including familiarity with MT and AI-driven workflows and tools
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems related to localisation workflows, processes, and content
- Experienced project manager, capable of working cross-functionally and delivering on time
- A team player—You’ll be joining a small, cohesive team
- Experienced working on requests from various functions: Marketing, Product and Engineering, Customer Support, Partnerships, etc
- A forensic eye for detail and a strong curiosity about how things work
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the team’s localisation workflow management, creating and/or vetting requests, with a special focus on French
- Coordinate work with our dedicated translation agencies, and build a relationship with all internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain reference materials for linguists, to keep a consistent voice in your locales and ensure best practices
- Perform Quality Assurance checks as part of our Localisation Quality Programme, assessing the quality of translations provided by our vendors, to ensure they are of the highest standard and they adhere to our linguistic assets in both fr-FR and fr-CA
- Translate and/or review translations directly on our TMS (Smartling)
- Collaborate with different teams, such as Product, Marketing, Partnerships and Ops, on the production of content for SEO, blog articles, training materials, and promotional assets
- Carry out localisation audits, testing the full user journey in our localised version of the web and app
- Project manage cross-functional international initiatives, working with remote teams in different areas and time zones
Preferred Qualifications
