Join Quantis as a Senior Sustainability Expert โ Packaging Assessment and Strategy and support the delivery of high-quality consulting services for clients, focusing on sustainable packaging initiatives. You will lead in product environmental footprinting (PEF) and life cycle assessment (LCA), assessing and reducing environmental impacts across the product life cycle, particularly for consumer packaged goods (CPG) packaging. Evaluate packaging solutions against circularity metrics, develop product environmental footprints, and ensure alignment with environmental regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed sustainability into product development, drive data-informed decisions, and contribute to closed-loop and low-impact packaging systems. The role involves conducting LCAs and PEFs, analyzing environmental impacts, developing strategic insights, supporting ecodesign and sustainable packaging innovation, advancing circularity strategies, ensuring regulatory readiness and compliance, and collaborating with external partners. You will also contribute to business development and client engagement, lead project teams, and serve as an internal subject matter expert.

Responsibilities
- Conduct Life Cycle Assessments and Product Environmental Footprints, especially for packaging materials and products
- Perform LCAs and Product Environmental Footprints aligned with relevant standards and frameworks including but not limited to ISO 14040/44, PEF
- Analyze environmental impacts across the full life cycle of products, especially packaging products
- Develop and communicate strategic insights, derived from assessments to various technical and non-technical audiences
- Support Ecodesign and Sustainable Packaging Innovation
- Collaborate with design, R&D, and marketing teams to implement ecodesign principles in packaging
- Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact through material selection, design optimization, and process efficiency
- Advance Circularity Strategies
- Assess the circularity of packaging products using established circularity metrics and frameworks (e.g., Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Circular Transition Indicators, ISO standards)
- Evaluate and recommend solutions for improved recyclability, reuse, biodegradability, or compostability of packaging
- Contribute to the development of closed-loop packaging systems and material recovery strategies
- Identify opportunities to improve material circularity and reduce dependency on virgin resources
- Ensure Regulatory Readiness and Compliance
- Monitor and interpret relevant environmental regulations (e.g., EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, Extended Producer Responsibility laws)
- Ensure packaging solutions meet legal environmental requirements in target markets
- Packaging Market Watch
- Stay updated on emerging tools, materials, and trends in sustainable packaging
- Benchmark environmental performance and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with External Partners
- Engage with external stakeholders such as suppliers, industry groups, and certification bodies
- Participate in standard-setting or pre-competitive initiatives related to footprinting and packaging sustainability
- Business Development & Client Engagement
- Contribute to proposal writing, client pitches, and business development activities, particularly in the area of sustainable packaging services
- Collaborate with the commercial team to identify and pursue new business opportunities with current and prospective clients
- Support scoping of new projects by aligning client sustainability challenges with Quantisโ service offerings
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality deliverables
