Join our full-service public accounting firm as a Senior Tax Accountant and contribute to a dynamic team providing tax compliance and planning services to diverse clients. You will lead tax strategy development, ensure regulatory compliance, cultivate client relationships, and conduct financial analysis. Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Must have a CPA or be eligible to take the CPA exam
  • Must currently work in Public Accounting
  • At least three years of experience with tax preparation for individuals and corporations
  • Proficient in tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, ProSeries, etc.)
  • Familiarity with accounting and ERP software
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and accounting principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex tax concepts to clients clearly and understandably
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive tax strategies for our clients
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and identify opportunities for tax optimization
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing proactive guidance on tax matters and addressing client inquiries with professionalism and expertise
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify potential tax risks and opportunities
  • Provide insightful recommendations to clients based on your findings
  • Provide technical expertise and knowledge of processes to expand the line of business and develop professional staff
  • Prepare and review complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations
  • Advise clients or internal stakeholders on tax planning strategies to optimize their financial position and minimize tax liabilities
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, research tax issues, and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients or internal departments, addressing their tax-related concerns, and providing proactive advice
  • Assist in tax audits by gathering necessary documentation, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and representing the organization in discussions with tax authorities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and legal departments, to ensure a holistic approach to tax compliance and planning
  • Stay informed about industry trends and share knowledge with junior team members, contributing to their professional development
