Join Togetherwork as a Tax Associate and support various tax functions, including preparing tax filings, performing reconciliations, and contributing to process improvements. You will work with cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to compliance, audits, research, and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include managing sales tax exemption certificates, responding to tax notices, preparing tax work papers and schedules, and performing routine tax accounting tasks. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business and 2 years of sales tax compliance experience are required. Strong understanding of sales tax regulations and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are also essential. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 2 years of sales tax compliance experience
- Strong understanding of sales tax regulations and experience with tax software (e.g., Avalara)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite tools
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tax-related tasks
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Manage and verify sales tax exemption certificates
- Work with the tax team to respond to and resolve tax notices
- Prepare work papers and schedules for sales tax, property tax, and gross receipts tax
- Prepare tax registrations, POAs, and other forms required by taxing jurisdictions
- Perform routine tax accounting tasks such as reconciliations
- Identify and contribute to process improvements to enhance tax compliance and reporting efficiency
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures for tax-related activities
