Summary

Join Matillion as a Senior Technical Account Manager and ensure customer success by providing proactive onboarding, accelerating value realization, and driving platform adoption. You will cultivate trusted advisor relationships, align onboarding activities with customer requirements, and proactively resolve technical roadblocks. Responsibilities include guiding customers to successful first workloads, conducting regular technical cadences, and monitoring adoption dashboards. You will also identify upselling opportunities, create technical content, represent Matillion at industry events, and collect customer feedback. This role requires a minimum of 5 years in a customer-facing role with strong consultative skills and extensive experience in data integration, cloud computing, and specific technologies. The position offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $128,000-$192,000 plus sales commissions, and a variety of benefits.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in a customer-facing role such as Technical Account Manager, Data Integration Consultant, or similar
  • Strong consultative approach with experience engaging end-users empathetically and diplomatically
  • Extensive experience in data integration, data warehousing, and cloud computing (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Data Warehouses/Platforms, particularly Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, and BigQuery
  • Proficiency in Linux, SQL, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
  • Strong understanding of API usage, integration, and version control software (e.g., Git)
  • Passion for technology with a commitment to staying up to date on advancements

Responsibilities

  • Customer Onboarding
  • Cultivate trusted advisor relationships with customers through cadences to set up technical infrastructure, rapidly achieve first value, and create long term customer engagement
  • Align customer onboarding activities around documentation of customer requirements, use cases, and desired business outcomes
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks, addressing technical roadblocks to maintain momentum and reinforce long-term value realization
  • Value Realization
  • Guide customers to a successful first workload by running pipelines in production aligned around their desired business outcomes
  • Conduct regular technical cadences for continuous enablement, support, and development of customer workloads
  • Monitor adoption dashboards for key success indicators, proactively driving consumption upward, and ensuring the timely resolution of issues
  • Ongoing Growth
  • Identify and drive opportunities for upselling and expansion, ensuring customers realise value by increasing platform consumption through new workloads and groups
  • Market and Thought Leadership
  • Create technical content and case studies that demonstrate how Matillion’s solutions address customer challenges
  • Represent Matillion as a technical expert at industry events, conferences, and user groups, fostering a strong brand presence
  • Product Feedback & Improvement
  • Collect and communicate customer feedback to the Product and Engineering teams, ensuring continuous product improvements and alignment with market needs
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in data integration, cloud computing, and data transformation, sharing insights with both customers and internal teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Matillion products and competitive ETL solutions
  • Experience with data governance, data quality, and data modeling
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) and proficiency in Python
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Couchbase) and MPP databases (Teradata, Netezza, Vertica, Exadata)
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes, network security fundamentals, and web application servers (especially Tomcat)
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
