You will assist the finance team in meeting external reporting objectives, implementing new accounting standards, maintaining SOX compliance, and providing technical accounting guidance. The position involves preparing external reporting filings, coordinating quarterly financial closes, researching new GAAP matters, monitoring accounting changes, assessing the impact of corporate events, and improving internal processes. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- CPA candidate eligibility required (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive financial accounting experience in a public accounting firm or accounting department of a publicly traded company with technical accounting research and SEC reporting responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations and ability to assess, analyze and document accounting positions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the Company’s external reporting filings, including financial statements, footnotes and other disclosures
- Coordinate all aspects of the quarterly financial close, external reporting and audit process with respect to assigned areas to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and adherence to internal and external financial reporting deadlines
- Assist in researching / documenting new GAAP and disclosure matters, including assistance with projects related to implementing and operationalizing new accounting pronouncements and other ad-hoc technical accounting analyses
- Proactively monitor changes to the accounting environment, research and assess the impact of new accounting guidance on the Company’s financial statements
- Assist with assessing accounting and external reporting impact of major corporate events and complex accounting matters and documenting in technical memoranda
- Assist with documentation of internal controls needed in a high growth technology company to ensure SOX compliance
- Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with internal/external auditors and provide support for their requests
- Maintain corporate accounting processes and documentation to ensure compliance with SOX
