Summary

Beta Engineering is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design structures, foundations, and overhead wires for high voltage transmission lines. Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience designing transmission line systems
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required
• PE is required
• Strong background in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, MFAD or LPile, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; strong verbal and written communication skills are required

Responsibilities

• Designs and interprets drawings for transmission structures, transmission foundations, transmission hardware assemblies, underground pipe networks, grading, substation structures, foundations, overhead lines, lightning protection systems, and aluminum bus systems
• Reviews drawings for substation equipment, vendor supplied equipment and customer standards
• Ensures compliance with customer specifications and design codes
• Checks PLS-CADD models, transmission line foundations, transmission structure electrical arrangement drawings and steel detail drawings
• Problem solves issues related to design, construction, and compliance
• Creates and checks material list descriptions for transmission lines
• Answers technical questions posed by construction managers, field staff, customers, and their representatives
• Recognizes and recommends methods to improve every customer’s experience
• Travels periodically to both customer offices for project meetings and to job sites for construction visits
