Senior UI Designer

Summary

Join T-Minus Zero, a remote-first game development studio, as a Senior UI Designer for a 6-month contract role. You will lead the design and implementation of engaging user experiences across our gaming titles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct user research, and advocate for user-centered design. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years of UI design experience (significant portion in gaming), proficiency in design tools, and a strong portfolio. The compensation range is $60-$75/hour.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in UI design, with a significant portion in the gaming industry
• Strong proficiency in UI design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
• Proven experience leading UI design projects from concept to implementation
• Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UI design projects and methodologies
• Ability to create detailed wireframes, prototypes, and user flows
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform design decisions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working with Unreal Engine

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate UI design strategies that align with the overall vision and goals of the project
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to effectively communicate design ideas and interactions
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs
• Collaborate with game designers, artists, and engineers to ensure cohesive and consistent user experiences
• Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the development process
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design
• Document UI processes, guidelines, and standards to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of front-end development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with motion design and creating interactive prototypes
• Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices in UI design
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing
• Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of game design principles
