Summary

Join 540 as a Senior UI/UX Designer to build user-centered applications for the federal government using modern open-source technologies on AWS. Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders on the USCIS Biometrics and Scheduling System. Conduct user research, refine requirements, design mockups, and present intuitive designs. This remote position (East Coast hours) requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain DHS Public Trust clearance. Requirements

  • 8+ years of UI/UX design experience
  • 3+ years of UX architecture and design expertise for enterprise applications on AWS
  • Excellent understanding and practical experience in: Figma including prototyping and libraries
  • Excellent understanding and practical experience in: Digital whiteboarding tools such as Mural
  • Experience designing and deploying large-scale, high-performance enterprise applications in complex, heterogeneous environments
  • Product management experience with a focus on user-centered design
  • Experience documenting and designing design requirements
  • Ability to negotiate design trade-off effectively with stakeholders
  • A portfolio that showcases your design process and deliverables across various digital experiences
  • Experience producing user flows, journey maps, wireframes and mockups
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience conducting interviews with key stakeholders and end users
  • Ability to identify critical functional needs and translate them into intuitive design solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in government environments, particularly with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
