Senior Unreal Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior Unreal Engineer at a remote gaming startup. The employee will work on an exciting game project using Unreal Engine, experiment with game design, collaborate with art and design teams, optimize existing systems, write robust code, and contribute ideas to the game's production.

Requirements

• Exp developing games professionally, shipping AAA titles
• Exp developing games in UE4 and/or UE5
• An analytical mind, strong problem-solving skills
• Strong C++ skills, the ability to code/architect gameplay mechanics, systems, and tools
• Strong math skills
• Well-versed in games and the ability to articulate what is strong/weak about the design of existing games (an interest in online games is preferred)
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
• Console/mobile game development experience
• Experience working on a live service game

Responsibilities

• Experiment with game design, use rapid prototyping while ensuring that strong architectural and algorithmic decisions are made
• Work closely with art and design teams to create/iterate on gameplay features
• Prototype/iterate on features, be willing to accept/respond to critical feedback
• Support technical excellence across multiple platforms
• Optimize/fix bugs in existing systems
• Contribute ideas towards all aspects of the game’s production and development
