Requirements
- Live in the United States
- Possess a Bachelorโs degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, or a related field
- Have 4-6 years of professional experience in UX architecture, information design, or a similar role, with a portfolio showcasing effective workflow development and IA projects
- Be highly proficient in human-centered design methodology and have extensive experience in structuring, organizing, and documenting complex information clearly and effectively, with a deep understanding of IA principles and best practices
- Demonstrate expertise in designing and refining workflows that are efficient, logical, and user-centered
- Possess exceptional communication, active listening, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex design concepts clearly and collaboratively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
- Be proficient in design tools such as Figma, FigJam, Lucid Chart, etc. for creating workflows and flow diagrams that guide design and development teams
- Possess the ability to juggle and prioritize the demands of multiple projects, deadlines, and assignments without sacrificing the quality of work
- Demonstrate aesthetic skills with a relentless attention to detail
- Possess deep knowledge of and commitment to accessibility best practices, including Section 508 guidelines and WCAG specifications
- Have the ability to put aside personal opinions and biases to understand and achieve actual user needs/desires
- Have the ability to remain level-headed and exercise good judgment when under pressure
- Have the ability to work effectively both as an individual contributor and as part of a diverse, virtual team
Responsibilities
- Report to the Senior Director of User Experience
- Create seamless, efficient workflows and intuitive information architectures for Common App products
- Work collaboratively across the organization with designers, researchers, product managers, and other stakeholders to organize complex information and design user-friendly systems that meet both user and business needs
- Shape the backbone of the user experience, ensuring that products and interfaces are cohesive, accessible, and human-centered
- Improve and optimize workflows using data and research insights, making processes and experiences efficient and joyful for users
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience working in higher education or on student-related digital products
- Have experience leveraging AI tools to streamline IA and workflow planning
- Have familiarity with generative AI to support and streamline architecture and workflow development
