Summary
Join PointClickCare as the Vice President of Engineering - Platform and Data, reporting directly to the CTO. Lead a team of engineers responsible for advancing platform and data platform capabilities. Collaborate with other leaders to ensure agile delivery and address customer issues. This role requires 10+ years of leadership experience in commercial enterprise software engineering and 5+ years delivering SaaS solutions. The successful candidate will possess advanced knowledge of systems architecture, agile practices, and large-scale SaaS platforms. Requirements
- 10+ years leadership experience of commercial enterprise software engineers with organizations larger than 50 people
- 5+ years delivering commercial software as a service solutions (SaaS)
- Proven success growing high caliber engineering organizations
- Experience collaborating with senior leadership on strategic priorities
- Established perspectives on large organization leadership, communications, and change management
- Advanced knowledge of systems architecture and application architecture practices
- Advanced expertise in large-scale SaaS platform and interoperability engineering, as well as in large-scale SaaS data platform engineering
- Advanced knowledge of effective agile practices for large engineering organizations
- Experience leading organizations with full stack, full responsibility (blended developers and QA) teams
- Experience delivering highly complex enterprise solutions with demanding reliability requirements
- Experience delivering solutions with very complicated interoperability and regulatory requirements
Responsibilities
- Lead the advancement and delivery of a world class service-oriented software platform and data platform
- Strengthen the organization through coaching, training and recruiting
- Be an advocate for strong, independent and accountable engineering teams
- Deliver outstanding new functionality to our customers
- Work closely with product management leadership to ensure agile delivery of new capabilities
- Work closely with business unit leaders to ensure rapid advancement of new opportunities
- Work closely with engineering leaders and the CTO in support of corporate strategic priorities
- Ensure that customer issues are addressed and maintain direct communication with the customers
- Help evolve and grow our engineering process, improving velocity and transparency
- Be accountable for strategic initiatives
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to exceptional engineering, with a focus on proactive action and delivering effective business solutions
- Participate in architecture, design and technology decisions
