The role prioritizes rebounding and growing organic traffic through strategic SEO content creation, focusing on content that ranks well and drives conversions. You will write approximately four long-form articles (1,000–2,000 words) per week, conduct keyword research, and collaborate with editors and legal subject matter experts. Success in this position requires excellent research and writing skills, a strong understanding of SEO principles, and experience with SEO tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush. The ideal candidate is based in the US or Canada and has 2+ years of experience in SEO content writing.
Requirements
- Based in the US or Canada (no visa sponsorship available)
- 2+ years of experience in SEO content writing (legal writing is a plus, but not required)
- Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to self-educate quickly
- A strong understanding of SEO principles, especially search intent and keyword targeting
- Experience using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console
- Familiar with WordPress, Google Docs, and collaborative content workflows
- Confident identifying areas of uncertainty in your writing and asking for help when needed
- Organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple assignments in a remote-first team
Responsibilities
- Write ~4 long-form articles (1,000–2,000 words) per week, plus contribute to refreshes, edits, and occasional micro-content
- Rebound organic traffic through strategic SEO content. Focus on creating content that ranks, drives traffic, and leads users down the conversion funnel
- Own the workflow. For each assignment: Receive the topic from the client; Conduct keyword research to identify the most appropriate search intent; Submit an outline based on your findings; Incorporate client feedback and draft the full article; Revise as needed with feedback from editors and legal subject matter experts (SMEs)
- Conduct deep research. Learn from credible sources, legal documents, and competitor content to build trustworthy, people-first articles
- Translate complex topics. Write for clarity, not legalese. Your goal is to simplify legal concepts for people who don’t have legal backgrounds—just like you
- Work with feedback loops. Collaborate with editors for voice, style, and formatting. Ask SMEs clarifying questions when you encounter topics that go beyond your expertise
- Format and publish in WordPress. Ensure content is QA’d and styled properly before going live
- Use data to guide decisions. Leverage tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console to inform and refine your content
