Service Delivery Manager

You will be responsible for planning and executing media encoding and player development projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder communication, optimizing media encoding and playback, managing project risks, ensuring quality assurance, and documenting project progress. This role requires extensive experience in video streaming workflows, video encoding, or video player technologies, along with technical knowledge of video codecs, streaming protocols, DRM, and media players. Strong project management skills, communication abilities, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Requirements

• Experience: You should have substantial project management experience in video streaming workflows, video encoding, or video player technologies, with a proven track record of successful project delivery and team collaboration
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with video codecs (H.264, H.265, AV1), streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), DRM (Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady), and media players (Shaka, ExoPlayer, AVPlayer) is essential to the success of our projects
• Project Management Skills: Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies, with hands-on experience using project management tools like Jira, Trello, or similar tools to plan, execute, and monitor complex projects
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot media encoding and playback challenges will be a valuable asset to our team

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Execution: Define the project’s scope, timelines, and deliverables for media encoding and player development projects, creating a clear path for success
• Team Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, QA specialists, designers, and product managers to develop and implement effective video encoding workflows and playback solutions
• Stakeholder Management: Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on requirements, priorities, and timelines for optimal project outcomes
• Media Encoding and Playback Optimization: Drive the development and refinement of encoding workflows, adaptive bitrate streaming, DRM solutions, and media player performance to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and establish strategies to address them, ensuring smooth project execution
• Quality Assurance: Ensure video encoding pipelines and players meet performance, quality, and compatibility standards across various devices and platforms
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough project documentation, progress reports, and key performance metrics to support transparency and informed decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud-based encoding solutions (AWS MediaConvert, FFmpeg), video playback platforms (Apple, Android, LG, Samsung), video analytics, and performance monitoring tools
