Requirements

  • Experience performing residential inspections
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work in field inspection programs on a tablet
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well and collaborate with team members
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, maintain professionalism, and handle challenging situations appropriately
  • Experience in site inspections, land surveying, or a related field
  • Proficiency in drawing to-scale site maps (manual)
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and coordinate mapping
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess suitability criteria
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively to various sites
  • Ability to work independently in the field and meet deadlines
  • Experience with photography and basic photo documentation

Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned sites to conduct in-person inspections, ensuring timely and professional engagement with applicants
  • Assess the suitability of sites for temporary housing, considering environmental, zoning, and logistical factors
  • Take high-quality photographs of the site, including key features and potential challenges
  • Create to-scale site maps that include: Property boundaries
  • Coordinates (latitude and longitude)
  • Locations of utilities (e.g., water, electricity, sewage)
  • Placement of structures or other relevant features
  • Document inspection findings in detailed reports for review
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with applicants, explaining site requirements and processes
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maps, and supporting documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of utility infrastructure and placement is a plus
