Site Reliability Engineer

Join Veriff's Engineering Division as its founding Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in the USA! You will shape Veriff's DevOps landscape, playing a key role in service architecture, deployment efficiency, and system monitoring. This role involves architecting and maintaining services, establishing a platform for product teams, leading initiatives to enhance operational excellence, and ensuring transparent communication. You will also develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement SRE best practices, and utilize Grafana for monitoring. This is a full-remote position with a competitive salary and benefits package. Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps or SRE
• Proficient understanding of modern infrastructure stacks, including Linux, SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and microservices architectures
• Previous experience deploying and managing services in production, emphasizing scalability and manageability
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and proficiency with cloud providers, strong knowledge with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
• The ability to read, understand, and write code, with proficiency in automating tasks (e.g., Go, Python)
• Understanding and application of SRE principles in system reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance
• Hands-on experience with the Grafana stack for advanced monitoring and visualization, deploying metrics/traces/logs collection agents (preferably Grafana agent)

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain Veriff's services for continuous operation and compliance with SLAs
• Establish and manage a platform enabling product teams to deploy and monitor services effectively
• Lead initiatives to enhance operational excellence across Engineering org (e.g., architectural patterns, testing practices, alerting mechanisms, circuit-breaking strategies) and improving operational processes (incl. capacity planning, resilience testing, and postmortems)
• Ensure transparent communication of service level status and conduct postmortems for continuous service delivery improvements, fostering trust with Veriff customers
• Foster a proper feedback loop between Product Engineering teams and the Engineering Platform
• Develop, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines for efficient service deployment
• Implement SRE best practices to monitor system health and logs, proactively identifying and preventing security breaches
• Apply SRE methodologies in participating in on-call rotations, ensuring swift resolution of incidents in production systems
• Utilize Grafana for effective monitoring, visualization, and analysis of system metrics to improve the reliability of the stack
• Prioritize security, engage in security initiatives, fortify infrastructure, and implement robust security measures for a secure operational environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, GitOps
• Experience working for a global scaleup
