Join our team and help build and operate a DNS resolution service for 100 million users as a Site Reliability Engineer for the EU-funded DNS4EU project. This role involves configuring and maintaining cloud locations, troubleshooting problems, identifying new cooperation opportunities, and contributing to product improvements. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and make a significant societal impact. The position requires advanced Linux and network administration skills, excellent communication, and some travel. Requirements

  • Advanced administrator-level knowledge of Linux (tcpdump, dig, curl)
  • Strong skills in routing, switching, and firewalls (ping, mtr, traceroute)
  • Confidence in sharing complex ideas clearly and effectively, especially in English
  • Advanced level English proficiency for effective communication
  • Travel approximately twice per quarter (conferences and other industry events)

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain the DNS4EU cloud locations - understand their specifics, propose changes and improvements to enhance user experience and reachability
  • Troubleshoot problems - monitor the service availability, proactively identify issues, improve the tooling and operations
  • Identify new cooperation opportunities. Collaborate with our Development, Product and Threat Intelligence teams as well as industry experts on DNS

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-4+ years working with internet protocols (hands-on experience with BGP, HTTP, TLS or DNS)
  • Experience with large-scale DNS (Resolvers or Authoritative) in deployment and operation
  • Experience with telecommunications providers networks and ISP networks
  • Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Experience with Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Zabbix or similar
  • Network security and protection against malware
