Summary
Join Skillsoft's Global Knowledge team as an SMB Account Manager to drive revenue growth by expanding the existing customer base and acquiring new clients. You will sell Global Knowledge solutions to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), focusing on both new customer acquisition and growth within existing accounts. This role requires proven sales success and involves managing a sales pipeline, collaborating with a team, and selling to multiple decision-makers within complex organizations. The position offers the opportunity to sell instructor-led training and requires strong communication and negotiation skills. The target hourly rate is $21-$27, with average on-target earnings of $87,000-$112,000 annually, including commissions. Skillsoft provides comprehensive enterprise benefits.
Requirements
- Exhibits strong prospecting skills and be able to technically communicate to lT teams and developers
- Salesforce and Outlook proficiency
- Ability to exceed sales targets, a keen understanding of the steps involved in a sales cycle and ability to leverage each stage to advance the sale
- Ability to operate with a sense of urgency, competitiveness, and demonstrate a positive winning attitude
- Negotiation skills to effectively communicate based on value and time to close
- Solid understanding of client requirements with ability to clearly articulate the company's offerings to develop solutions to meet those requirements
- 5+ years of technical sales experience in a new business/acquisition capacity with an Associateโs degree or 3+ years with a Bachelorโs degree or commensurate experience
- Business development/hunter and farmer role sales experience
- Experience selling directly into IT, Human Resources and Learning & Development departments and have successfully delivered against annual targets based on monthly objectives
- Ability to follow established processes and provide constructive feedback on processes
- Experience managing and resolving customer objections and rejections
- Be process oriented and responsible for strategy development and execution
- Possess critical thinking, research skills and adaptability, while being able to focus on what matters to the customer
Responsibilities
- Drive top-line revenue growth through new customer acquisition and expansion of our Global Knowledge solutions line footprint within a dedicated prospect list
- Responsible for prospecting and managing a designated territory to maximize revenue growth
- Work as part of broader international SMB sales team
- Own responsibility to meet and exceed revenue & sales goals
- Win by representing a solution line with key competitive differentiators
- Influence customers and prospects at the lT and development leadership level
- Establish strategic plans and objectives to drive desired business growth
- Partner with other Account Executives, marketing and support resources in the successful advancement of critical opportunities and market penetration
