Summary

Join EXPANSIA, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, as a Software Developer I! This full-time, remote position involves contributing to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of software systems. You will design, code, test, and debug software, collaborate with teams, and provide technical advice. The salary range is $22.00-$27.00 an hour, with flexibility to balance work and personal life. Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 0 - 2 yrs. of experience
  • Demonstrated experience using cybersecurity and open-source technology
  • Experience developing software utilizing various coding languages including Java, C++, PHP and more
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are essential
  • Analyze code for weaknesses and errors, and present detailed plans to improve them
  • Experience developing customized code for multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and client requirements for software
  • Develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the company
  • Professionally maintain all software and create updates regularly to address customer and company concerns
  • Analyze and test programs and products before formal launch
  • Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive workplace
  • Ensure software security by developing programs to actively monitor the sharing of private information
  • Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions
  • Aid and support the coaching and training of other team members to ensure all employees are confident in the use of software applications
  • Respond to help desk tickets by diagnosing and troubleshooting software issues, including bugs, system errors, or performance problems, and providing clear instructions or guidance to users on how to resolve them
  • Support operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions
  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded
  • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area
  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction
  • Completes personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on)
  • Within your program, build productive and positive professional relationships with clients
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a working understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
  • Excellent Communicator - brain storming, active participant in conversations, self-motivated to communicate
  • Willing to learn new things
  • Self-Starter – identify your knowledge gaps and independently seek to fill those gaps
  • Problem solver, critical thinker
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum
  • Active DoD Directive 8570 IAT I or II certification (Security+ or equivalent)
