Software Development Engineer II - Frontend in Chile

Summary

The job is for a Frontend Software Development Engineer II on OfferUp's Activation & Growth team. The role involves developing features, collaborating with cross-functional teams, maintaining code quality, and creating solutions to improve efficiency. Requirements include 4+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency in Javascript or Typescript, mobile application development experience, strong coding skills, Apollo GraphQL experience, knowledge of Data Structures and Object Oriented Design, cross-browser compatibility, client-side security, SEO, design patterns, web optimization performance, fluency in English, and excellent communication skills. Helpful but not required are Agile development, AWS Cloud infrastructure, experience with web package managers, bundler systems, NodeJS, Python, webpack, and a Github repo with your code.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Javascript or Typescript
• Experience developing mobile applications in a professional setting
• Demonstrate strong coding skills in Front-end focused Software Development (React Native, ReactJS, HTML, CSS)
• Experience with Apollo GraphQL
• Good knowledge of Data Structures and Object Oriented Design
• Experience with cross-browser compatibility, client-side security, browser tuning, SEO, and optimization techniques/tools for multi-tier large-scale web architecture
• Knowledge in web optimization performance, and design patterns e.g. responsive design vs optimized design
• An insatiable desire and ability to learn
• Desire a fast moving, continuous flow development environment
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken (fluency in English required)

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy multiple features with high operational excellence
• Analyze metrics to roll out the feature
• Work with cross-functional team members and help set up good coding patterns
