Summary

Join Navy Federal Credit Union as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) and collaborate with DevOps engineers, developers, and cloud engineers. You will plan, design, and develop test automation for integration, regression, and functional testing. Ensure software quality and compliance with system requirements and Navy Federal business practices. Analyze functional and technical requirements, test web application UIs, APIs, and mainframe or Windows applications. Develop test automation frameworks and possess excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams. The role requires strong development skills in core Java concepts and Selenium, experience with various testing tools and frameworks, and proficiency in agile methodologies. You will also develop and maintain reusable components and adhere to software engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • Implement cloud native test automation tools and define frameworks and methods that increase efficiency and reduce Data Center footprint
  • Design and implement robust and scalable test automation solutions within an Azure DevOps and CI/CD environment to improve the quality of functional, regression, and system tests
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in agile settings to understand business requirements to develop test automation that supports DevOps and CI/CD
  • Demonstrate strong experience with agile methodologies
  • Streamline continuous test processes that improve product delivery
  • Possess strong development skills in core Java concepts and Selenium Test Automation Framework development
  • Have experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Junit, Cucumber, Gherkin, and XPath
  • Develop scripts to perform comprehensive automated testing on multiple platforms including web based, client server, and mainframe
  • Have experience developing test automation for SOA Services and SOAP/REST APIs
  • Have experience with Azure Repos, GitHub, Bitbucket or other software repositories
  • Have experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, or Bamboo
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of dependency management and build tools such as Maven
  • Be proficient in keyword, data driven, and behavior-driven test automation development
  • Have experience with test management tools such as Azure Test Plans, Jira, OpenText ALM
  • Develop and maintain reusable components, functions, methods, and libraries to reduce maintenance and increase efficiency and scalability
  • Adhere to Software Engineering disciplines
  • Possess advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess advanced skills building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy, and tact
  • Possess advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Exercise initiative and use good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Possess advanced analytical/quantitative, reconciliation, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate skill in mentoring and training less experienced staff

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers, developers, and cloud engineers to plan, design, and develop test automation in support of product teams
  • Develop test automation for integration, regression, and functional testing to validate the quality of software to ensure compliance with system requirements and Navy Federal business practices and policies
  • Assist in the analysis of functional and technical requirements as needed
  • Test web application User Interfaces, APIs, Mainframe or Windows applications and participate in the development of test automation frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of multiple test automation tools and test automation patterns
  • Experience with evaluating new software testing tools and performing proof of concepts
  • Experience developing YAML based Azure pipelines
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages to support CI/CD pipeline jobs
  • Experience writing test automation code with IntelliJ and/or Visual Studio Code
  • Experience with databases (Microsoft SQL Server is preferred)
  • ASTQB CTFL or CTAL-TAE Certification
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of banking/financial industry standards and practices
