Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in backend engineering, ideally working on real-time or user-facing platforms
  • Strong programming skills in Node.js, with deep understanding of asynchronous programming and system design
  • Proven experience building and scaling distributed services, APIs, and event-driven systems
  • Familiarity with infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience integrating services with data stores, message queues, and external APIs
  • Exposure to conversational AI, LLM infrastructure, or voice interfaces

Responsibilities

  • Design and build high-availability, low-latency services powering AI-based voice and digital agents
  • Contribute to the orchestration logic that handles tool invocation, conversational memory, session management, and multi-turn logic
  • Integrate backend systems with AI components such as language models, speech pipelines, and structured data sources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including ML, product, compliance, and UX to deliver intelligent and trustworthy user experiences
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and system-wide scalability challenges
  • Participate in design and architecture reviews, and mentor junior engineers across the team
  • Uphold engineering excellence through strong documentation, testing, observability, and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on AI-enabled or ML-integrated platforms
  • Understanding of compliance, security, and auditability requirements in regulated environments
  • Prior experience working in fast-paced, high-growth product teams
